Travelling alone does not mean trekking alone. TANAPA requires guided climbing operations, so a solo traveller can book a private expedition or join a scheduled TrekUp group. A private climb offers greater control over departure style and group dynamics, while a joining group can reduce per-person costs and create a social experience. Joining groups still require a shared mountain rhythm: guide decisions, camp movements and summit strategy are managed for the safety of the group. Confirm room and tent-sharing arrangements before booking, including any single supplement. Joining departures work best when climbers respect different walking speeds, backgrounds and levels of experience. TrekUp’s guides set the pace and can reorganize support when practical and safe.
