Women climb Kilimanjaro successfully in every season, and the core preparation principles are the same: acclimatization, fitness, appropriate clothing, nutrition and honest health communication. For menstruation, carry your preferred products plus extras, sealable disposal bags and hand sanitizer. Menstrual products must be packed out according to waste procedures. TrekUp’s private toilet system on camping routes provides useful privacy, although mountain facilities remain basic. Choose trekking trousers and base layers that are comfortable for long days and easy to manage in a toilet tent. A long sleep shirt or lightweight camp layer can add privacy. If you have individual health concerns or use medication that may interact with altitude or travel, discuss them with an appropriate clinician before departure rather than relying on generic advice.
